As Vice President of Research and Development, Zuchen Lin leads MonoSol’s global R&D organization and is responsible for the company’s technology and product innovation portfolio. His work focuses on advancing sustainable materials, accelerating product delivery, and translating scientific breakthroughs into market-ready solutions.
Zuchen has played a key role in repositioning R&D as a central driver of MonoSol’s innovation strategy. He successfully led the relocation of the global R&D team to the state-of-the-art Chicago Innovation Center and has attracted a new generation of scientific talent, drawn by MonoSol’s focus on sustainability and innovation.
Under Zuchen’s leadership, the team is expanding its work in bio-based materials, exploring new synthesis methods for biopolymer modification in collaboration with Kuraray and other leaders in natural polymers. In close partnership with MonoSol’s New Business Innovation team, R&D is exploring new opportunities to bring groundbreaking technologies to market.
Zuchen brings over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, product development, and innovation strategy. Prior to joining MonoSol, he led North American R&D for Avery Dennison’s Label and Graphics Materials business where he was responsible for delivering innovation strategies and product pipelines. He began his career as a research scientist at Procter & Gamble and has held increasingly senior roles in R&D and product management at Dow Corning, Laird Technologies, and Avery Dennison. He holds more than 25 patents.
