January 29 at ACI: MonoSol Executive previews next big wave in water-soluble unit dose film packaging

Merrillville, Indiana – January 21, 2016 – Anyone familiar with the phenomenal success of unit dose water-soluble film-packaged products in the detergent industry, won’t want to miss the first-ever ACI Innovations & Technologies Showcase on Friday morning, January 29, 2016, during the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) Convention at Grande Lakes Orlando, Florida. Specifically, the 7:30-9:00 a.m. breakfast session at the JW Marriott, in rooms Palazzo A-D, Lobby Level.

That’s when and where Christian Herrmanns, VP Marketing & Sales for MonoSol LLC will present unit dose Past, Present and – importantly – a Future that’s already upon us, bringing next-generation advances and new market-leading opportunities for brand owners.

MonoSol led the way with unit dose technology, collaborating with marketers to develop laundry detergent products that in just three years created a new product category, now commanding 15%-20% market share in North America and Western Europe, with exponential growth in Japan and elsewhere. First-generation MonoDose™ films gave consumers convenience and marketers the flexibility via single and multi-compartment soluble unit dose (SUD) products.

Now the company is at it again. “We see functional films with additional active ingredients incorporated into the film itself,” Herrmanns reveals. “These new Intellidose™ films keep incompatible ingredients separated, and timed-release technology will allow different functional components to perform when and as needed.”

Using laundry products as an example, Herrmanns says that a single Intellidose pack could contain and initially release detergent, then sequentially release fabric softener and/or fragrances and/or deodorants at proper stages during the wash cycle. All in and from a single film pack.

“Staying ahead of the curve and co-engineering advanced technology with our customers is our forte at MonoSol,” asserts Herrmanns. “Close, confidential collaborations and partnerships enable us to open new doors and develop fresh, marketable concepts to help grow the industry even further.”

ACI Innovation & Technologies Showcase is the event, during the ACI 2016 Convention. Friday, January 29th, 7:30 a.m. is the time. Rooms Palazzo A-D, Lobby Level at the JW Marriott is the place. “The Next Wave in Water-Soluble Unit Dose Film Packaging” is what you’ll want to see – and you can ask questions during Q&A after Herrmanns’ presentation.
